NEW MUSIC MONDAY: BOHAN PHOENIX JALA

On week into Trump's America and the entire country could use a fun jam with the ability to unite cultures. Enter Bohan Phoenix's "JALA."

The Chinese-American rapper's latest track seamlessly mixes Eastern and Western influences to perfectly express his mixed identity. Bohan effortless flips from Mandarin to English over a bass- heavy trap beat with a looped sample of the Guzheng, a traditional Chinese instrument.

While the track is fire, it's the official clip for "JALA" that will really lift your mood. Bohan plays a chili slinging kingpin with the spiciest peppers in NYC. He rolls through a hand-pulled noodle shop where folks of all races enjoy hot bowls of soup. Looks like Bohan has tapped into the easiest way to bring folks together, good tunes and great food.
