YOKO ONO CALLS ON WOMEN EVERYWHERE TO HELP EXPOSE GENDER VIOLENCE
Yoko Ono has never run out of ways to use art in the pursuit of peace. Now 83, she is still pushing boundaries to bring issues of injustice and controversy to light. For her latest work, entitled Arising, Ono has invited women from all over the world to submit written testimonials about the violence they have suffered and subsequently survived. Participants are asked to also submit a photograph of their eyes to be displayed along with their stories in the ongoing exhibition. If you have a story to tell, tell it…you could be saving a life.
The show opens October 8th at the Reykjavik Art Museum in Iceland but there is no deadline, all submissions should be emailed to firstname.lastname@example.org.
